Time for my monthly update for those of you who haven't given up on me yet.

G and I at Mojos the night she arrived

G, Bron, Me and Jimmy at with the peak of Whistler in the background. I love this photo.

G and I on Whistler

I had a fun couple of weeks hanging out with Georgia and one good week with Jimbo. Unfortunately G hurt her knee and so didn't end up boarding as much as she would have liked but she did get a few sunny days up the hill which was nice. It didn't snow until her last day and she got her first real powder experience. This coincided with me jumping from out of the trees back onto the trail and landing hard on my but and almost biting the end of my tongue off. I went to the doctor to get my back checked out yesterday and the xray didn't show any major damage so I hope I'll loose my old man crouch in a few weeks.

We said goodbye to Davorama (my room mate) 3 weeks ago. It was sad to see him go but he tells me he is enjoying the warmth back in NZ. We miss you Dave. I now have a new room mate Ross, who is Lisa's cousin, another kiwi. He's a nice guy and we've already been boarding.

Psychedelic tube park camp fire

We took G up to the tube park one night and there were quite a large group of us who enjoyed toasted marsh mellows and hot chocolate (with a bit of Baileys, or was it baileys and with a bit of hot chocolate...). We had dinner at the Spaghetti Factory afterwards which serves good hearty meals at quite reasonable prices.

Showcase Showdown

The Showcase Showdown was held on the Blackcomb Super Night Pipe a few weeks ago. It was a "Pipe Style" contest, which consists of a huge spine jump at the top of the pipe, then some half piping with a couple of big boxes half way along the pipe and ends with your choice of two rails or a box out of the end of the pipe. There was some pretty amazing riding and the contest was won by a 17 year old from Pemberton. Top night, apart from being absolutely frozen.

I can't believe how quickly the season has gone. Only 6 weeks until they make us redundant and close Blackcomb mountain. I'm working on my leads down in Vancouver to organise a job for the start of May. It's looking promising at this stage.

I'll leave you with a few more cool photos that I managed to capture before my digi cam decided not to work any more. I'll have to head down to Vancouver and pick up a new one in the next few weeks. Bye.
