Kerri, Me and Kate at the Crystal Lounge
A bunch of us headed out to the Crystal Lounge for a few beers last night. Normally The Longhorn is the place to be on a Sunday night, but if you aren't there by 8pm, you queue for an hour to get in. There was no way that we were standing around in the snow so the Crystal Lounge was the next best thing. It is quite a bit more chilled out which is nice and they have a jam session on Sunday nights which attracts a bit of talent. I wish I had my sax here. Had to work in the morning so had an early night.

Today I trotted along to expecting to be up at Rendezvous storing skis but ended up at the top of Whistler in the Mountain Adventure Center (MAC) Alpine Repair Store. It's quite funny because Georgia worked at the MAC at Copper in Colorado last season.

My job was to fix broken bindings, make adjustments and even rent skis and boards to people who's gear couldn't be fixed on the hill. It was quite fun acutally, compared with standing around in a storage shack. I had a 10 minute crash course in using the POS (Point of Sale) system this morning, and a 5 minute refresher on teching skis (since I haven't touched a ski since my certification course 4 weeks ago) and headed up the gondie. I'm up there again tomorrow. You can almost see the store on the Whistler webcam, not quite though. It is just out of frame at the bottom left of the picture. My aim tomorrow is to get on the webcam and run back inside and save the photo. Oh yeah, the shop has a computer and they've forgotten to block the internet on it so I spent most of the day surfing. They did manage to block MSN, but I my engineering computer skills put an end to that. I actually did do a bit of work too which was rewarding. Fixed 4 snowboards, 3 sets of ski bindings and rented out a pair of skis to a guy who busted his bindings so bad that we couldn't fix them.
Having a quiet night in tonight. My voice isn't quite up to Karaoke just yet. Maybe next week.
